Core Values

I had occasion today to go searching for an image of core memory to contribute to Coleman’s blog. I found a really nice close up shot at audilab.bmed.mcgill.ca on Google images, but when I clicked through on the Google link I got this annoying popup:

McGill Popup

Since all I wanted to do was to access the image from Google images’ reference, I had no user name or password. Clicking Cancel or X box closing, simply redisplayed the popup. In fact I was unable to close the browser, except finally by using task manager to croak the whole IE process. This is very unfriendly and earns the <LAME> stamp for this week.
